R&D Statistician/Data Scientist (f/m/d)

AOP Health is the European pioneer for integrated therapies for rare diseases and in critical care. To enhance our team in Vienna we are looking for an R&D Statistician/Data Scientist (f/m/d).

In this role, the Statistician is responsible as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all statistical work within the R&D department, ensuring high-quality statistical analysis and insights.

What Your Day To Day Will Look Like

  • Provide strategic input into study design and perform sample size calculations, power analyses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine study protocols, statistical analysis plans (SAPs), and case report forms (CRFs).
  • Propose, prepare and perform exploratory data analyses, ad-hoc analyses as relevant for the study or project objectives. 
  • Evaluate and select appropriate statistical methods for complex study designs, including multivariate analyses.
  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets to generate actionable insights and conclusions.
  • Ensure statistical accuracy and reliability in the preparation of clinical study reports (CSRs) and regulatory documentation.
  • Develop and validate statistical models to support study objectives and decision-making.
  • Support the development and implementation of innovative statistical methodologies.

Your Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree (Master in Statistics or equivalent) with 7+ years relevant work experience or PhD (in Statistics or equivalent) with 3+ years relevant work experience
  • Solid track record of successfully leading the statistical component of clinical studies, including complex or innovative trials.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS, R) and familiarity with data management principles and clinical trial data structures.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced statistical methodologies, such as Bayesian methods, adaptive designs, and predictive modeling.
  • Expertise in handling and analyzing high-dimensional data from clinical trials or other complex studies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt statistical approaches to evolving study needs.
  • Excellent analytical skills with speed and proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools. Proactive, confident, and solutions-oriented with a "can-do" attitude.

  • Gross monthly salary provided for this function is a minimum of EUR 4.500.- based on full-time employment. Any potential overpayment depends on professional experience and qualifications.
