Targeting Rare Diseases and Critical Care.

AOP Health is a subsidiary and part of the AOP Group, which manages the availability of the parent company's medicines in the Adria region. AOP Health's origins date back to 2016, when the Amomed subsidiary for the Adria region was established. Following the merger of Amomed and AOP, it was renamed AOP Health Adria.   

Our core focus is to provide modern, innovative, patient-friendly treatments for diseases for which AOP Health has appropriate and comprehensive solutions.   

AOP Health also contributes to society by conducting clinical research that facilitates access to the most advanced medicines for many patients in Slovenia.  At the same time, AOP Health supports the involvement of Slovenian experts in international research and contributes to the development of medical science in Slovenia.        

Whether a disease is defined as a rare disease depends on the frequency of its occurrence in the population. However, from the global point of view the definition is not consistent. Thus, in Europe those diseases that occur in less than 5 per 10,000 residents are defined as rare diseases.
