AOP Health is the European pioneer for integrated therapies for rare diseases and in critical care. As a privately owned company AOP Health is devoted to long-term commitment, high quality, and continuity. For a small number of very special diseases the company is the sole supplier of some key therapeutic agents throughout the world. 

AOP Health has had a presence in Slovakia since 2006. We started as a small team and have gradually grown to an established office with eight employees. We have an experienced and creative team of people working in Slovakia, operating throughout the country.

I have been a part of AOP Health almost since the establishment of its branch in Slovakia. It is very motivating for me to work with a team of experienced colleagues in a company whose priority is to help patients with rare diseases and patients in intensive care units.

What are Rare Diseases?

Whether a disease is defined as a rare disease depends on the frequency of its occurrence in the population. However, from the global point of view the definition is not consistent. Thus, in Europe those diseases that occur in less than 5 per 10,000 residents are defined as rare diseases.
